GuideWelcome to the River Wenn restoration. For years this was a straight, lifeless channel; let me show you five sites we've brought back to life.
GuideAt the Mill Site, our first job was clearing the past: old concrete banks were removed, freeing the river to move.
GuideJust downstream, at the Meadow Bend, we reshaped the course, so new bends slow the water down and stop flooding below.
GuideAt the Marsh Site, you'll see tall green stems. These are reed beds that clean the water naturally, filtering out pollution.
GuideAt the Weir Site, the old dam blocked the fish. Now fish ladders help fish swim upstream to breed.
GuideAnd at the Spawning Site, we laid clean stones, because gravel beds let fish lay eggs in the shallows.
