ArchitectWelcome to the Greenhouse, the greenest building in town. Let me show you five features that make it so efficient.
ArchitectStart with the structure itself. The walls are unusually deep, because thick walls keep heat in through the coldest winter.
ArchitectLook at the south side now, almost entirely glass. Those large windows cut the need for lights during the day.
ArchitectUp top, you can just see green. The roof is covered with plants, soaking up rain and sheltering birds.
ArchitectInside the frame, much of the wood is weathered. That's deliberate: old timber was reused in the frame, saving new trees.
ArchitectAnd out the back, beside the tanks, you'll notice the panels. Quite simply, solar panels make the electricity here.
