SpeakerWelcome to tonight's talk on social media. I'll share five simple rules that protect you and others online.
SpeakerRule one is about strangers. The golden rule for safety is this: keep your account private, so only friends see your posts.
SpeakerRule two fights false news. Before you pass anything on, check a story before you share, even if it looks true.
SpeakerRule three guards your data. The strongest single step is to use a long, unusual password, never a birthday.
SpeakerRule four is about other people. Whatever the argument, be kind in every comment, because words can wound.
SpeakerAnd rule five protects your own mind: limit your screen time, especially late at night.
