LecturerSo, Tara and Ben, your seminar covers robots in real industries. What's the main message you want the class to take away?
TaraThat robots aren't here to replace every worker. The real pattern is that they take over tasks that are dull, dirty or dangerous.
LecturerA neat summary. And what surprised you most while researching?
BenHow old some of them are. People think this is brand new, but factory robots have been working since the nineteen sixties.
LecturerQuite right. What did you find is still the hardest thing for a robot to do?
TaraAnything needing a soft, careful touch. Picking a ripe strawberry without crushing it is far harder than lifting a car.
