RangerWelcome to the park centre. Before you set off, let me explain the five things on your trail map.
RangerFirst, the red dot. That is the 'you are here' mark, so it shows where you are right now.
RangerIn the top corner you'll see a small arrow; this is the compass and it points towards north.
RangerThose brown wavy lines are contour lines, and they tell you how steep the land is.
RangerThe little numbers along the paths are useful too, because each one marks the distance between places.
RangerAnd the thin green lines are important for walkers, as the map shows footpaths in green.
