RangerWelcome to Pinewood National Park. The park is divided into five zones, each with its own purpose, so let me explain them.
RangerThe Lake Zone, to the north, is our strictest. It's roped off because rare birds nest undisturbed there in spring.
RangerThe Pine Zone is the opposite — open and welcoming. With a permit, visitors can camp overnight under the trees.
RangerIn the Old Wood Zone, you'll see fallen trunks everywhere. We leave them on purpose, as old trees are left to rot naturally, feeding insects.
RangerThe Stream Zone is built for families. At the shallow edges, children can pond-dip safely with nets we lend out.
RangerAnd the Heath Zone has firm, wide paths, the one area where cycling is allowed on wide tracks.
