TutorSo, Liam and Priya, your project asks how a modern weather forecast is actually made. What's your headline finding?
PriyaThat a forecast is never one machine's work. The key idea is that it combines many sources of data into a single prediction.
TutorGood. And why are today's forecasts so much better than thirty years ago?
LiamMainly the computers. The maths hasn't changed much, but the power to crunch it has grown enormously.
TutorExactly. What did you find is still the hardest thing to predict?
PriyaRain, by far. We can predict tomorrow's temperature quite well, but exactly where a shower will fall is still very hard.
