GuideWelcome to Hilltop Observatory's open night. Before you wander off, let me explain what's happening at each of our stations this evening.
GuideLet's start with the Main Dome, straight ahead of you. Our giant telescope is pointed at Saturn tonight, so this is where you can see the planets up close.
GuideJust to the left, in the Discovery Tent, we've laid out our rock collection. Here you're actually allowed to handle real pieces of meteorite that fell to Earth.
GuideOver in the Lecture Room to your right, we're not giving a talk tonight. Instead, every twenty minutes there's a short film about distant galaxies on the big screen.
GuideFamilies love the Workshop Bench at the back. The children there build and launch a paper rocket, and they can take it home afterwards.
GuideAnd don't miss the Roof Terrace upstairs. With the small cameras we lend out, that's the best spot to take photographs of the moon.
