HostWelcome to BioLab's open day. We have five activity benches set up, and I'll tell you what each one offers before you start.
HostBench One is the messy favourite. Using just salt and washing-up liquid, you extract DNA from a strawberry and see it as a white thread.
HostBench Two is behind glass for safety. There, you see bacteria grown on a dish, in patterns the scientists made days ago.
HostBench Three is the puzzle table. Like a detective, you match DNA samples to work out 'who did it' in a pretend case.
HostBench Four needs patience and a steady eye: you look at chromosomes through a microscope and try to count them.
HostAnd Bench Five is pure craft — with beads and wire, you build a model of the DNA shape to take home.
