GuideWelcome to Mereton. On today's walk I'll point out five places worth your time in the old centre.
GuideWe begin at the bell tower. Climb its steps and you'll find it has the best view of the city.
GuideNext is the great cathedral. It costs nothing usually, but it is free to enter on Sundays for everyone.
GuideThen we reach the main square, which holds an open-air market every morning except Monday.
GuideAfter that, the river house. Few people know that it was once a royal palace, centuries ago.
GuideOur last stop is the walled garden, which is famous for its gardens of rare roses.
