SupervisorRight, Nadia and Tom — your project connects a whole house of devices to the internet. What's the central aim?
NadiaThe main goal isn't really convenience. We wanted to prove that a connected home can cut wasted energy, which is the real benefit.
SupervisorInteresting focus. And what was the hardest part of the build?
TomGetting the devices to talk to each other. They each used a different standard, so making them communicate took weeks.
SupervisorThat's the classic problem. Did you worry about security at all?
NadiaConstantly. A connected home is only as safe as its weakest device, so we changed every default password first.
